Project Name:Waste and Refuse San Diego County - Anaerobic Digester

Project Summary:

Part of larger improvements to a Waste and Refuse facility that FB&E has been a part of since 2016.

This phase of consisted design, demo and reconstruction of an existing building for a new fully automated anaerobic digester, a system that converts organic waste to fertilizer and generates renewable energy.

Construction included highly technical integration of a conveyor and piping system to transport raw green waste and processed digestate, only the second of its kind in California.

Additional work included:

• Installation of 8000 amps of power
• Electrical & Control panel rooms
• CIP concrete storage tanks with an equipment mezzanine above
• Elevated Control Room
• 35' high site wall combining CMU and metal wall panels
• Sitework
• Process water collection system
• Site utilities and facility upgrades
